PrEP stands for pre-exposure prophylaxis. It’s one of the ways someone can protect himself better against infection with the HIV virus. PrEP is a pill that contains two active substances that prevent cells from the virus to enter the body and to multiply. This pill does not offer protection against other sexually transmitted diseases or pregnancy.
